I’ve done research, got tons of user reports to my email and had personal experiences both LGD-4033 and LGD-3033. In this post, I will break down everything you need to know to decide which one is best for you and your sitation/goals.
LGD 3033
LGD-3033 is a newer SARM but it has some early promising reports. People send me emails with impressive strength and muscle gains with no or surprisingly low water retention.
Half-Life
The half life of LGD-3033 is 12-14 hours.
This means that you’ll need to dose it twice a day to always keep a steady level in your bloodstream to actually get the results that you’re looking for from a SARM.
Compared to almost all other SARMs which have a half life of 24 hours (only 1 dose a day), this is a bit of an inconvenience.
Side Effects
Outside of Testosterone suppression, like all other SARMs, the side effects of LGD-3033 are not so clear.
This is a major downside for any new research chemical that doesn’t have a lot of studies behind it. We simply don’t know what the potential long-term side effects of LGD-3033 are.
LGD-4033, on the other hand, is incredibly well studied with tons and tons of feedback on it, which means we can be sure about the side effects a lot more.
From the anecdotal reports in my emails and my own personal experience, you can expect headaches and joint pain at higher doses of LGD-3033.
LGD 4033
LGD-4033, also known as Ligandrol is one of the most popular and well researched SARMs on the market.
It does exactly what it promises: Muscle gains and very impressive strength gains. Most people (including me) use it for a bulking or lean-bulking cycle. I’ve always believed that using it on a cut is a bit of a waste.
Half Life
The half life of LGD-4033 is 24 hours, which means you only need to dose it once par day.
This is extremely convenient and a lot more manageable than LGD-3033’s 12 hour half-life.
Side Effects
LGD 4033 is very well studied so we know a lot more about it’s side effect profile.
Just like all SARMs, it suppresses Testosterone and since it’s so well studied, we have a clear idea how to handle this. You will need to do a PCT (Post Cycle Therapy), read my post on LGD 4033 PCT to get more information and a clear guide on this.
As far as other side effects go, some people experience slight water retention, headaches or joint discomfort. However, these should all be manageable, especially if you stick to low dosages.
Also, one of the most important things you have to make sure is that your product is real and pure. There are a lot of bunk LGD-4033 products on the market and those have a whole different set of side effects. Check out my company recommendation list for more.

Muscle and Strength Gains Comparison
LGD-4033 is the clear winner in terms of muscle mass and strength gains. On top of that, it’s been extremely well-studied (almost at the final phase of clinical trials) and used by thousands of people.
LGD-3033 is more mild and could potentially be used for maintenance or even a cut but since there’s not so much research about this SARM available, I don’t feel comfortable with that yet.
Price Comparison
LGD-4033 is a bit more expensive, but it’s worth it for the results and reliability. You can find LGD-3033 to be a little cheaper, but given the lack of research, I’d be hesitant to recommend it just to save a few dollars.
If you’re looking to avoid bunk products, check out my company recommendation page. I vet all the suppliers listed to make sure you’re getting quality SARMs, not underdosed or fake products that mess with your cycle.
Side Effects Comparison
Both LGD 4033 and LGD 3033 will suppress your Testosterone. However, LGD 4033 is a lot more understood which makes PCT planning much easier.
LGD 3033’s side effects are not as predictable because of the lack of research and this adds a layer of risk to the compound that I’m not comfortable with.
When you factor in the half life advantage of LGD 4033 with the 10x more user data behind it, it clearly becomes a much safer choice as of right now.
Conclusion
LGD-4033 has been studied more, used more and delivers more impressive results.
LGD-3033 has potential use as a SARM for maintenance or cutting in the future but with the big gap in research, I can’t recommend it right now.
Stick with LGD-4033 if you want a safer, stronger SARM. However, if you prefer a milder SARM (maybe just for cutting or a slight recomp), I would look into Ostarine instead of LGD 3033.
