(Comparison) RAD 140 vs MK 677

In terms of benefits-to-side-effects MK-677 is better. But if you're only after muscle growth, RAD-140 is the better choice.
RAD 140 vs MK 677

On This Page

I’ve used both RAD 140 and MK 677 a number of times.

In this post I’ll breakdown the differences between them, what you can expect from each, etc. If you’re choosing between RAD 140 & MK 677, you’ll be able to make a good choice by the end of this post.

RAD 140

RAD-140 (also known as Testolone) is one of the most popular SARMs on the market.

Like all other SARMs, it works by selectively targeting androgen receptors in the muscles and joints leading to steroid like effects of muscle growth without the same side effects.

I won’t go too deep into RAD 140 here as I’ve already done that in my in-depth RAD 140 review. If you’re interested in learning more about this compound, I suggest you read that.

Side Effects

The main issue with RAD-140 (and basically all other SARMs) is that it suppresses testosterone. This means you’ll need a post-cycle therapy (PCT) to get your natural levels back on track after your cycle.

Read my RAD 140 PCT guide to learn how to do that.

Other potential side effects include headaches, joint pain, and aggression in some people. However, most of these side effects only happen at higher dosages.

MK 677

MK-677 (also known as Ibutamoren) is completely different from RAD-140. It’s not a SARM but a growth hormone secretagogue, which means it boosts your body’s natural growth hormone and IGF-1 production.

MK-677 is great for improving recovery, enhancing sleep, improving nail, hair & skin quality and promoting fat loss while retaining muscle.

The best part? It doesn’t suppress testosterone, so you won’t need a PCT.

Read my MK 677 review to learn everything about it.

Side Effects

The most common side effect with MK-677 is increased appetite, which can be either a good or bad thing depending on your goals.

Some people experience water retention, headaches or slight lethargy during the first few weeks. However, since it doesn’t affect your hormones, the side effects are generally mild.

Comparing Benefits & Side Effects

When comparing RAD-140 and MK-677, it’s all about your goals.

RAD-140 is the choice if you want muscle gains and significant strength improvements. The downside is the testosterone suppression, which means PCT is non-negotiable.

MK-677, on the other hand, is ideal for long-term muscle retention, improved recovery andbetter sleep. It’s safer since it doesn’t mess with your hormones, making it a good compound for longer-term use.

In terms of benefits-to-side-effects, in my opinion MK-677 offers better overall safety. But if you’re only after muscle growth, RAD-140 is the better choice.

Comparing Price & Value

RAD-140 is a bit pricier. MK-677, while also on the expensive side, is a better value for long-term use since it doesn’t require PCT or breaks between cycles.

To make sure you’re getting legit products, check my company recommendation page. I only list suppliers that I’ve personally verified. There are a lot of bunk products on the market so making sure your product is legit is a priority.

TL;DR

If your goal is simply to get muscle gains, RAD-140 is hard to beat. It’s powerful, but it does require proper PCT to recover afterward.

If you’re more interested in recovery, long-term gains, and better overall health, MK-677 is the smarter, safer option. It’s great for those who want slower progress without hormonal disruption.

Both RAD-140 and MK-677 have their strengths. It just depends on whether you’re chasing quick results or long-term benefits.
